The goal of NOBALIS project is to boost the HEIs’ institutional capacity for supporting innovation and entrepreneurship activities. Non-academic staff plays a key role in facilitating a favorable environment for innovation through brokering information on innovation and support services, motivating HEI member, championing for staff and student start-ups and spin-offs and helping them navigate HEI polices, intellectual property, commercialization challenges.
On November 15th, the NOBALIS partners conducted the first edition of NOBALIS digital course for non-academics called “Research driven innovation – a course for the support functions in Nordic and Baltic Universities”. The aims of the training were to improve the understanding on innovation and commercialization function and space, discuss HEIs’ role and responsibilities, address legal and regulative framework in partner countries, and provide practical advice on how different administrative structures can support innovation and entrepreneurship activities in the HEI.
The target groups for the training were staff in NOBALIS partners’ administration and management structurers, librarians, finance employees, communications and technical staff. 14 non-academics participated in the training session on Nov. 15th.
The training was organized by NOBALIS partners’ Ard Innovation and Norwegian University of Life Sciences and was conducted by Jorun Pedersen, the director of Ard Innovation. Training was part of activities of NOBALIS WP2. Capacity building in the institutions.
